When I started practicing medicine nearly 20 years ago, I imagined a long and happy career as a physician leader and clinician. But in the last few years, the number of female patients, friends, and family members asking me about perimenopause grew like wildfire.
I couldn’t shake the apocalyptic gap of unanswered questions regarding midlife women’s care.
So, I decided to join an elite–and thankfully, growing–league of fellow physicians who are on a perimenopause mission to raise awareness and provide attainable and sustainable treatment.

Midlife health testing can feel like aiming for a target in the dark. There’s often a lot of guessing involved on how symptoms start and are triggered, which can lead to *best guessing* a diagnosis. I employ comprehensive testing when needed to analyze data and then prescribe. I let your symptoms and the science determine what will work best.
HRT is effective for sidestepping perimenopausal symptoms in many women. Whatever your preference–topical mist, gels, pill form, patches, or otherwise–hormone replacement therapy can, at the very least, help you start feeling like yourself again.
In midlife, women can start to suffer from anxiety and depression that can be related to hormonal changes. I don’t shy away from other types of therapies. Research has proven that psychedelic medicine and ketamine therapy can offer healing capabilities that are effective, fast-acting, and, yes, safe. Addressing your anxiety, depression, and overall mental health is crucial to becoming your best self.
It’s illogical to think you can change your body without addressing your nutrition and movement. Studies have proven that a diet rich in lean proteins, fruits and vegetables, and consistent exercise can affect your entire being–and that also means your perimenopausal being.
